MAC - Archie's Girls Veronica Lipstick - Daddy's Little Girl

I can't believe I'm only posting about this now, I bought this 4 weeks ago! I have absolutely been loving this lipstick and have been wearing it any chance I get.

This lipstick is from the Archie's Girls collection at MAC. I had been reading so many posts from US bloggers on this collection and I was so excited when it finally came to the UK. I had decided I was only going to let myself buy one product as I really need to be saving and it was a choice between this shade and Ronnie Red. As I already have quite a lot of reds I thought this was quite different.

For a start, I love the packaging, I wasn't quite sure on it when I first saw it online but it's grown on me and I find it very cute. It's very bright and colourful compared to MAC's usual packaging.

The colour itself is completely gorgeous and I think it suits my colouring quite well. At first look at the lipstick itself it looks like its quite dark and very purple, but when applied its got a lot of pink to it and is nice and bright.

As my lips have been quite dry I've been applying a lip balm underneath and this adds a nice bit of shine to the colour. It is a very build able lipstick and you can make it as bright as you'd like. It lasts quite a while too and I don't need to apply it as often as I would with other lip products.

Did you get a chance to try anything from this collection? Has anyone got their hands on anything from the Hayley Williams range at MAC? I've been dying to try some of these out!

Lush - Emotional Brilliance - Passionate Lipgloss

Third post about the Emotional Brilliance range...with more to come! I wore out the Passionate lipgloss for the first time last night when going out to dinner and decided to take a photograph for you all to let you see how it looks. I took the images on my iphone so the quality isn't that great but you can see how nice and bright it is. It's a bright pink colour with purple undertones and I absolutely love it. To the left shows my natural lip colour, and to the right is how it looks after the colour is applied with nothing underneath. The feel of the wand on my lips reminded me of a felt tip which was quite interesting and I could tell straight away that the colour was long lasting, and it definitely is. Even after accidentally wiping my mouth a few times, and going out for dinner and eating my food, and dessert, the colour was still intact until I removed it that night. So pleased as it's hard to find one which lasts after eating. The lipgloss line also doubles as a cheek stain, but I doubt I'll be using this shade for that. I highly recommend this colour in the range!

Lush - Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar Review

I bought this soap in February thinking that my first bar would be done around then and that I would have my second one ready. It actually lasted far longer than expected so I only started using this new bar about 2 weeks ago. I decided to use it a few times before I wrote on a review on it so that I knew what it was like.

It works exactly the same as the first shampoo bar I used. You simply run your hair under some water, rub the bar into your head a few times and it will lather up quickly. Rub the lather into your head and then rinse out. I have washed my hair twice with it a few times because my friend said that shampooing your hair twice makes your hair far cleaner, and it definitely does. However, I am only reviewing a single use of this shampoo bar. I was amazed after only one use of this bar at how clean it left my hair. It's specifically for greasy hair and I tend to wash my hair every other day so I thought this would let that clean feeling last longer, and it does. After washing and conditioning my hair and then drying it, it feels like all the build up has left my hair and it feels really light and clean. It also smells delicious, it's a very fresh, lemony smell.

Pros :

  • Inexpensive, only £5 and lasts around 3 months.
  • Refreshing smell.
  • Equivalent to 3 x 200ml bottles of shampoo.
  • Works very well for getting an extra day out of greasy hair.
Cons :

  • Zero, I can honestly find no wrong in these shampoo bars!
I absolutely adore these shampoo bars and will continue buying them for a long time as they are far, far better than bottles of shampoo. In comparison with my first one, the Karma Komba bar, I can't decide which I like better. I love the Karma scent in Lush which draws me to that one, but the Jumping Juniper bar leaves my hair feeling the cleanest.

I will hopefully be buying a conditioner bar from Lush this week to try out so I'll let you all know how that goes!
