New Years Nails

To start with, Happy New Year everyone! Thank you to everyone who's followed me throughout this year. I love seeing the follower count go up and getting notifications of your comments.

Last night I went out with my boyfriend and friends to celebrate, and of course I wanted to do some themed nails for the occasion.

I started with Essie's Fiji, which I've been wanting for ages (thank you Abbie). It doesn't really come up as well in the photographs, but its a really nice shade of pale pink. I applied only one coat of this since I was layering a different polish over the top.

Next, I used my OPI Rainbow In The S-Kylie from the Kardashian collection, which is one of my very favourite glitter polishes. I love how easy it is to apply because you can literally put it on any direction you choose. I may actually just do a separate post on it, I love it that much!

Then that's it finished! I didn't want to do what I've seen others doing and write 2013 on my nails, I just wanted something more simple. Even though glitter isn't exactly simple... But I love it!

Blogmas Day 24 - Christmas/Holiday Inspired Nails

I debated what to do with my nails for a while. I knew I wanted to have something quite festive, but really couldn't decide what. I also didn't want too much detail in it, and wanted something fairly simple. I had originally thought of doing my nails either red or green doing little holiday bobbles across them, but in the end, I decided upon candy canes.

Very easy to do. I applied just one layer of  Essie's Jag-u-are nail polish, one of my favourites. I then let this dry and took my white Sally Hansen  nail polish that I have from a french manicure set. I started from the bottom of my ring finger nail and very carefully done a thin diagonal stripe. I then repeated this another two times on that nail, and moved to the same finger on the other hand.

I wasn't sure whether to do only the one nail, or do the rest the same, but in a different direction, but I loved how simple and clean this looked so I decided to leave it as it is.

Blogmas Day 15 - Nails of the Day

I decided to finally change my nails from my Essie jag-u-are nail polish that I've been loving so much. I wanted something that was still quite festive so I settled on making them looking frosty.

I used my Barry M polishes for this, the first I've used this brand in quite a while. I applied a base coat first, and then shade 292 which is called Navy.

I had originally thought about doing just my ring finger in glitter, but after applying it, I loved it so much I just put it on them all. I used shade 297 which is simply called Blue Glitter.

I think it looks like sparkling frost or water and I love just looking at how pretty they are.

Blogmas Day 8 - Nails of the Day

Thought I would do a little nail post for you all since I mentioned how I've been wearing my Essie jag-u-are nail polish everyday. I decided to make it extra festive today, however.

I touched up my Essie polish and then done my own variation of a French manicure by adding some of my new gold nail polish from Avon along the top.

Nice and sparkly!

NOTD - OPI's Pink Friday and Teenage Dream

Just a little late night Nail Of The Day for you all. Done my nails in advance so I don't just forget about them tomorrow. Just going into town for some shopping, nothing special, but I felt like painting my nails nice and bright. I have Sally Hansens advanced hard as nails on as a base coat, then OPI's Pink Friday (which I have a review on if you're interested) on all my nails, and Teenage Dream on my ring finger. Not the best photo because it's dark but if you want to see how bright this nail colour is, check out my past review! I call it Barbie pink, super bright.

OPI Fly Nail Polish Review

On my recent trip to San Diego I picked up a few nail polishes and one of them was Fly by OPI as part of their Nicki Minaj collection. I'm not an overly big fan of Nicki Minaj so I hadn't intended on even looking at any of her nail varnish collection, nor was I really even aware that she had one, but the colours were so beautiful I ended up getting two. I got this one and Pink Friday and I'm in love with them and the OPI nail polish collection in general.

Fly is a beautiful teal blue type colour which is perfect for Summer and seems to go with anything. It goes on really smoothly and easily and the texture of this one is quite thick so once opening it up it nearly covers three nails without having to dip it back in. It also dries fairly quickly comapred to some other brands I've tried, which I love as I hate having to wait ages before I'm allowed to touch anything.

I done two coats of this polish, but really, you could probably get away with just the one if you were pressed for time. These two photographs show what it looked like after one coat, and then after another. Sorry they aren't too good quality, they were taken with my iPhone camera and I really should probably just use my own proper camera for things like this! As you can see, it looks pretty much the same in both photographs because the colour is pretty bright and thick anyway! I'm writing this after applying the polish yesterday and it and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed at how well it's stayed on as I'm quite hard on my nails and it hasn't really chipped all that much. 6/10 nails are completely perfect, and the rest of just tiny chips in the corner which aren't really that noticeable.

If anyone is interested I can also do a review of the other Nicki Minaj nail polish I bought, which is the Pink Friday polish, and it's a lovely bright baby pink which reminds me of a Barbie nail polish would look like. I've used it a few times and love how bright and colourful it is.
